Energy Saving Air Conditioners
When the time comes for you to replace your old air conditioner, make sure that you buy an energy efficient one by checking to see that it has a yellow tag attached to it which lists its SEER information. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating.

Home Air Conditioned
This is a seasonal output that is measured by calculating the British Thermal Units or BTUs divided by the number of watt hours that are used in an average climate temperature. The greater the SEER number is, then the more energy efficient the air conditioning unit will be. Central air conditioners also come with a SEER number; however, it is usually found on the item’s fact sheet and not on a tag.
